A very unusual two-tone niello silver chain measuring 159cm in length and approximately This technique has been used since antiquity, incorporated into jewels made by the ancient Egyptians and Romans and was most recently employed in jewels and decorative items in late-nineteenth/early-twentieth century Russia, which is where this chain was made. The attached spring ring clasp fits easily into all the links,allowing it to be worn at any length.
