Fine Edwardian tripod wine table,circa 1900–1915.
Circular top with attractive book-matched radial mahogany veneer, supported on a turned fluted pedestal and elegant tripod base. Original patina throughout. A handsome example of Georgian Revival craftsmanship, retaining excellent colour and character. Height 63 cm, diameter 44 cm.
The top is not made from a single board. It is a radial book-matched veneer (“sunburst” or “pie-crust” veneered top), which was a hallmark of good-quality cabinetmaking
